Trade Idea Between Memphis Grizzlies and Atlanta Hawks Proposed

In this story:
The Memphis Grizzlies are in a very interesting spot as they enter the trade deadline. Having a solid playoff roster when fully heathy, the Grizzlies have been anything but healthy this season. With Ja Morant sidelined for the rest of the season, Memphis is also without several other key contributors, including Morant's backcourt partner Desmond Bane.
Because of all these injuries, the Grizzlies will likely miss the playoffs this season, which alters their approach at this year's trade deadline. Perhaps looking to acquire pieces that will fit alongside Morant when he returns next year, the Grizzlies are unlikely to make any shortsighted moves at the deadline.
In a recent article from Bleacher Report's Zack Buckley, Atlanta Hawks forward De'Andre Hunter was named as a logic trade option for Memphis. This is a hypothetical proposal from Bleacher Report, and not sourced reporting, but Hunter could be the type of player the Grizzlies take a look at.
Under contract through the 2026-27 season, Hunter would presumably slide into the Grizzlies' starting lineup for the foreseeable future. The team has been looking for an optimal starting small forward since letting Dillon Brooks go, and Hunter could be nice fit if his career-high 40.4% from deep this season stays around that mark.
Vince Williams Jr. looks to be another long-term option for Memphis next to Morant and Bane, as the recently signed wing has really impressed this season. While he is a great defender, Williams is much smaller at 6'4" than the 6'8" Hunter, so perhaps the Grizzlies would like more size next to their backcourt of Morant and Bane when fully-healthy.
Whether or not the Grizzlies make a move for a player like Hunter, they have certainly found something in Williams, who projects to be firmly in their rotation for years to come - whether as a starter or off the bench.
