Bane was the honorary captain for the game, and spent some time around the team. Tigers football head coach Ryan Silverfield spoke to reporters about what it meant to have the Grizzlies star around, saying, "Anybody who has ever been around Demsond Bane knows what a gentleman, what a class act, and tremendous young man [he is]... Him and I developed a relationship, he's been around our program, he's watched our guys work out in the summer, he's come and hung out. All he wants to do is just be around... Des is the type of person you wants around your guys."

Everyone who has been around Bane has nothing but great things to say about him. A cornerstone for the Grizzlies group, Bane has emerged as a leader on and off the court, and was rewarded with a max contract extension the offseason because of it.
Enjoying some Memphis football before training camp begins, Bane had a fun night with the Tigers taking home another big win.
