WATCH: Ja Morant Heckled by Lakers Fans After Game 6 Elimination

In this story:
After being eliminated by the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 6, Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies had to face the consequences of their overly confident trash talk throughout the course of the season. As Morant was exiting the arena on Friday night, a group of Lakers fans heckled the star point guard:
"Shut it down, Ja!"

Morant was a good sport about it, sarcastically laughing and cheering along with the fans. While Morant's "Fine in the West" comments earlier this season certainly did not age well, he has openly accepted the backlash, and has handled it with maturity. That was again on display in this interaction, as Morant did not get upset with the fans who were heckling him.
This loss was a humbling moment for the Grizzlies as a team, being eliminated in the first round by the 7th seed. Expected to make a deep playoff run, the Grizzlies will instead head home early. This will be an important off-season for Memphis, as they are clearly far from where they need to be in terms of championship contention.
While the Grizzlies have a strong core, even their best players have notable flaws that were exposed by the Lakers. These are things that must improve if the Grizzlies want to be considered a legitimate championship contender. Understanding this, Memphis will approach this off-season with the intention to get better both internally and externally.
