Atlanta Hawks Release Initial Injury Report Ahead of Tomorrow's Game vs the Raptors

In this story:

The Hawks are in the midst of a four-game losing streak and have also lost seven of their last ten games ahead of two games against the Raptors. Atlanta will be in Toronto for two games this week and it is a matchup of the 10th-place team in the Eastern Conference and the 11th-place team. Both the Raptors and the Hawks were hoping to avoid the play-in tournament this year, but that is the path both teams are on currently.

Atlanta was missing two starters last night vs the Nuggets and they might be down both guys again tomorrow vs the Raptors. Atlanta just released its initial injury report for tomorrow's game and De'Andre Hunter remains on it and is listed as questionable with right knee soreness. Rookies Kobe Bufkin and Mouhamed Gueye remain out, as does Jalen Johnson.

Last night, Hawks head coach Quin Snyder opted to start Garrison Matthews in place of Hunter and that did not go well. Matthews did not play well and Bogdan Bogdanovic played a hefty amount of minutes last night and put up arguably the best performance of his career. Bogdanovic had 40 points and 10 three-pointers in the loss vs the Nuggets.

Will Snyder go back to Garrison Matthews tomorrow?

There are two other intriguing options. Onyeka Okongwu could start at the four and move Bey over to the three. Another option could be having Bogdan Bogdanovic start in place of Hunter but I assume Snyder wants to be able to bring Bogdanovic off the bench.

If Hunter is out, would that open up minutes for AJ Griffin? Snyder seems reluctant to play him, but we'll see. Griffin did get two stints last night vs the Nuggets and he did not play well, especially on defense.

Stay tuned for the injury report going into tomorrow's game.
