In this story:

Tonight, the Atlanta Hawks came into this one looking to close the season series against Orlando with a sweep after taking care of them pretty handily in their previous three meetings. This gam was no different, as the Hawks found themselves running away with this one early in the first half.

1. Second quarter surge

In the first quarter, things weren't going as well for Atlanta as they found themselves down by seven. However, in the second quarter, the Hawks exploded, going on a 31-14 run into halftime and capitalizing on Orlando's mistakes. During this run, the Hawks made three-pointers off the dribble, which Orlando struggled to keep up with, and finished the first half shooting 40% from the field.

2. Nickeil Alexander-Walker

The main star against Orlando this season, and tonight, was none other than Alexander-Walker. In his meetings with Orlando, he has gone on some insane scoring runs, and tonight the same remained as he finished the first half with 22 points on 72% shooting from the field and 66% from three-point range. Alexander-Walker finished the night with 32 points, five rebounds, two steals, one block, and one assist on 68% shooting from the field and 55% from three-point range in 29 minutes.

3. Defense closes the deal

While the Hawks had it going offensively, the main way they got away with this one was on the defensive end. In the first half, the Hawks held Orlando to 1-of-15 shooting from three-point range, and for the game, to under 30% shooting from three-point range. Overall, the Hawks forced Orlando into 18 turnovers and scored 22 points off those turnovers, while also surpassing their season average of 14 steals.

4. Hawks Winning the Mental Battle

Since the Hawks and Magic have played over the past few seasons, things have been chippy, and there's no sign of that slowing down after this season. Tonight, as the Hawks officially get the season sweep of the Magic, things got physical as the Hawks ran away with the game early. You could see Hawks players talking to Orlando players, and the Hawks' bench taunting, leading to Wendell Carter Jr. getting upset after being called for a foul on Daniels and shoving him.

5. Dyson Daniels

Daniels has been a key contributor to the Hawks' success against Orlando this season, and he would continue that trend tonight, as he finished with a nice double-double of 15 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, and one steal. He also played efficiently, shooting 45% from the field and 50% from three-point range. He finishes the season series against Orlando, averaging 13 points,10 rebounds, four assists, and one steal.
