Gilbert Arenas Responded To Mario Chalmers' Notion Of Players Not Fearing LeBron James
Former Miami Heat guard Mario Chalmers recently created Internet buzz by saying NBA players do not fear LeBron James.
Ex-player Gilbert Arenas recently used his podcast to further break down the argument, saying there were different types of fears for players like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and James.
"You can't use that as a negative against LeBron to say everyone feared Jordan and that's why he's better than LeBron," Arenas said. "Did anybody fear Magic Johnson? No. Did anybody fear John Stockton, Karl Malone? No."
Arenas said the fear against guys like Jordan and Bryant were because of their ability to embarrass opponents by scoring a bunch of points. With James, it's different because he does so many other things than just score.
"Michael Jordan was feared," Arenas said. "Allen Iverson was feared. Kobe Bryant was feared. Guys who have the ability to score 30 to damn 70 points, they're feared. LeBron James was an all-around player. Even though he gave you 40, it wasn't the same 40."
