The one negative about trash-talk is it backfires if you don't back it up.

Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler is finding this out after spending some of the season making bold predictions. His latest was earlier this week when he guaranteed victory in Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks

With a chance to clinch a playoff berth, the Heat followed Butler's words with a bad loss. Sirius XM radio host Justine Termine looked back to Butler claiming the Heat would win the championship after getting off to a slow start last October.

The Heat were unable to gain any consistency this season, finishing No. 7 in the Eastern Conference standings. It landed them in the play-in tournament and now they have to win Friday to make the postseason.

"Who else is sick of Jimmy Butler talking nonstop," Justin Termine said. "Once again Jimmy Butler talked and didn't show up to back it up. All that talk and Jimmy Butler ends up going 6 of 19 for 21 points."

If the Heat fail to make the postseason, expect even more criticism to follow.
