In a way, the Philadelphia 76ers won twice on Saturday afternoon.

They proved they could win without star center Joel Embiid in their 96-88 victory against the Brooklyn Nets. The Sixers won the series 4-0, advancing to play the winner of the Boston Celtics-Atlanta Hawks matchup.

By making quick of the Nets, the Sixers now have time to rest Embiid, out with a sprained knee, for the next round. The earliest the Celtics-Hawks series could end is Tuesday, giving Embiid nearly a week off.

The Sixers had five players in double-figures, led by Tobias Harris' 25 points. James Harden and Tyrese Maxey combined for 33 points while De'Anthony Melton had 15 off the bench.

The Nets' season ends in disappointment after holding the No. 1 seed in early January before Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were traded before the deadline.
