ESPN's Kendrick Perkins Says Celtics Need To Win Championship In Order To Get Credit For Being First To Rally From 3-0

In this story:
The Boston Celtics have a chance to make history tonight at the expense of the Miami Heat.
A win in Game 7 would make them the first NBA team to recover from a 3-0 deficit. While it's quite the honor, ESPN's Kendrick Perkins said it won't mean anything if the fail to win the title.
"Nothing, if they don't win the championship," Perkins said. "It means absolutely nothing. No one would care."

If the Celtics defeat the Heat and Denver Nuggets in the Finals, then it becomes more memorable because of the challenges they overcame to win. They also rallied from down 3-2 in the conference semifinals against the Philadelphia 76ers.
"The fans don't care about if you're going to reach the Finals," Perkins said. "They care about you completing the mission. They don't care about going there. They want to hang banners. If the Celtics happen to win this game tonight and they lose in the NBA Finals, no one would care. But if they complete this and go on to win the championship, this will go down as one of the best championships in Celtics history."
