Derrick White's Tip-In At Buzzer Forces A Game 7 Between Miami Heat And Boston Celtics

The Miami Heat were so close to securing an NBA Finals berth but now have to do it in Game 7 at Boston Monday

For a while, it looked like the Miami Heat were on the way to the NBA Finals.

Boston Celtics guard Derrick White had other plans.

White tipped in a Marcus Smart missed 3-pointer at the buzzer to push the Celtics to a 104-103 victory Saturday in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals. Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 31 points and 11 rebounds.

The series is now tied at 3, with Game 7 Monday in Boston.

The Heat appeared to have secured victory when Jimmy Butler hit three free throws with 2.1 seconds. Butler scored 14 of his 24 points in the final 3 minutes, 51 seconds.

After winning the first three games, the Heat are one loss from being on the wrong side of history. The Celtics are now in position to become the first NBA team to rally from a 3-0 deficit. Teams were previously 0-150 in the position.
