In A Heartfelt Tribute, Dwyane Wade Says Udonis Haslem Had Best Career In Miami Heat History

In this story:

The Miami Heat have had many Hall of Fame players in the organization.

But Heat legend Dwyane Wade said there is only one to have had the best career in team history. In a personal essay for Sports Illustrated, Wade detailed his 20-year friendship with Haslem.

Wade, who is considered the greatest Heat player, said no one had a better stay with the organization than Haslem. The two entered the same year in 2003 but the recently retired Haslem spent his entire career in Miami. Wade left for 18 months to play with the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers before returning to end his career with the Heat.

"He has had the greatest career in Miami Heat history," Wade wrote. "No one thought that would be the case when he first walked into that building. The franchise has had Shaq, Tim Hardaway, Alonzo [Mourning], LeBron, Chris Bosh—a line of Hall of Famers. But there’s one that stands above us all. That’s Udonis Haslem. How damn cool is it that kids growing up will want to have a career like his?"
