For the past four seasons, the Miami Heat were one of the teams speculated to have interest in Russell Westbrook.

Many Heat fans were quick to say the organization should avoid Westbrook because of his perceived attitude issues. On Saturday, Westbrook showed why he is among the league's greatest players and would have been a solid addition to the Heat.

With Paul George and Kawhi Leonard sidelined to injury, Westbrook scored 37 points in the Los Angeles Clippers loss to the Phoenix Suns. The Clippers are down 3-1 but Westbrook should won over all of his critics.

"When he retires, people are gonna tell the truth about how they feel about his game. Right now, [they] make a joke out of Russ," said Suns forward Kevin Durant, a former teammate of Westbrook in Oklahoma CIty."

Added Suns guard Chris Paul: "I feel like the only people to do that is the people who don't know ball."

The Heat had an opportunity to acquire Westbrook during buyout season. Instead, they chose to go after size by signing Cody Zeller and Kevin Love.
