The NBA has some explaining to do to the Miami Heat fans.

They were upset the clock change late in the Heat's loss to the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals. When Jimmy Butler was fouled by Al Horford while attempting a 3-pointer in the corner, the clock show 2.1 seconds remaining.

After Butler sank three free throws to put the Heat ahead by 1, the clock went back three seconds. At worst, it should have been at 2.9 seconds.

The extra time was just the break the Celtics. It provided just enough time for Derrick White make the winning tip-in off Marcus Smart's missed 3-pointer. White released the ball with .1 seconds remaining. He would have never had time to get off the shot if the clock was set at the original time.

Expect the league to release a statement today.
