Miami Heat Hopes Of Damian Lillard Could Take A Hit With Portland Trail Blazers Reportedly Agreeing To Terms With Jerami Grant

In this story:
The Portland Trail Blazers are apparently halfway toward keeping guard Damian Lillard.
According to a report from ESPN, the Blazers are on the way to re-signing forward Jerami Grant to a contract extension.
The Portland Trailblazers are in agreement with free agent forward Jerami Grant on a 5-year, $160 million contract, his agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports tells ESPN.

The Heat are among the teams in contention for acquiring Lillard during free agency, but one of his requirements of staying in Portland was them keeping Grant. The other was signing Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, who becomes a free agent Saturday.
The Blazers having a Big Three of Lillard, Green and Grant likely doesn't compare him to being paired with the Heat's tandem of Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. Still, the fact the Blazers are trying to accommodate Lillard could impact the Heat's offseason.
The Heat are searching for another complementary player to help them finally overcome the hump. They appeared in the NBA Finals twice in the past four seasons but lost both times.
