Miami Heat Target Kyrie Irving Traded To Dallas Mavericks

In this story:
The Miami Heat targeted Kyrie Irving once he requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets.
BREAKING: The Brooklyn Nets are trading Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a first-round and multiple second-round picks, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

For a second straight time, the Heat came up short. According to multiple reports, Irving was traded to the Dallas Mavericks to join MVP candidate Luka Doncic.
The Heat were among the suitors for Irving, but ultimately did not have any trade assets to make a deal. The trading deadline is still four days away, so the Heat have time to make an addition.
At 29-25, they remain in the hunt in the Eastern Conference. The Heat have lacked production at the power and appear to lack a second scorer alongside Jimmy Butler. The good news is Irving went to a team in the West, which won't affect them in the East.
Last year the Heat made the conference finals before losing to the Boston Celtics in Game 7.
