If Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler gets his way, the two-year reign on the MVP trophy for Nikoka Jokic will end this season.
Butler said his vote goes to Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid. He made the comments Tuesday after hearing about Embiid's 52-point game against the Boston Celtics.
“Joel’s the MVP," Butler said. "He should’ve been MVP last year, too.”

Butler and Embiid were once teammates with the 76ers before the trade in 2019. Embiid also had 13 rebounds and six assists while shooting 20 of 25 from the field.
Embiid is averaging 33.3 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists this season.
"What we did right was Joel Embiid," Sixers coach Doc Rivers said. "The MVP race is over... the man just scored half of our points in an NBA game."
The Heat play Embiid and the Sixers Thursday.
