Western Conference Recaps, April 25: Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray Helped Denver Nuggets Eliminate Minnesota Timberwolves

A few days ago, Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards was fortunate enough to avoid being swept.

He wasn't as lucky when it came to remaining alive in the playoffs. Nikola Jokic had yet another triple-double and Jamal Murray scored a game-high 35 points to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 112-99 victory Tuesday. The Nuggets won the series 4-1, sending the Timberwolves home. Jokic finished with 28 points, 17 rebounds and 12 assists.

The Nuggets advance to the second round to face the Phoenix Suns, who knocked out the Los Angeles Clippers in five games. The series begins Saturday in Denver.

Edwards led the Timberwolves with 29 points and brought his team to within 111-109 on a jumpshot with 3.1 seconds remaining. Jokic then hit two free throws on the next possession.

Edwards missed a long 3-pointer at the buzzer that would have forced overtime.
