The Denver Nuggets moved one step closer to reaching the NBA Finals for the first time.

Behind Jamal Murray's 37 points, they defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 119-108 Saturday at Staples Center. They lead 3-0 in the best-of-7 series.

"This group is capable of doing great things, and they believe,” Nuggets coach Mike Malone said. “Belief is a very powerful thing.”

Murray was 15 of 29 from the field, making five 3-pointers. Center Nikola Jokic added 24 points and eight assists. Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 28 points and 18 rebounds while LeBron James had 23 points and 12 assists.

The odds are against the Lakers because no team has ever rallied from 3-0 deficit.

“I can’t speak for the guys right now because I don’t know what’s going through all their minds, but I still (believe),” James said. “So it’s time to go right back home and start to refuel and start the treatment process and recovery process and get ready for Monday. My mindset is always locked in.”
