Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN has reported four names that are expected to be leading candidates for Charlotte's newly vacant Head Coaching position.

Sources: Among the league’s assistant coaching candidates expected to be considered in the Charlotte process: Sacramento’s Jordi Fernandez, Boston’s Charles Lee, Miami’s Chris Quinn, Phoenix’s Kevin Young, and others.

Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix, who has long term links to the Celtics organisation also reported that Charles Lee would garner strong consideration.

Jeff Peterson will now make an important coaching hire with Steve Clifford stepping down, as @wojespn reported. There’s been a lot of chatter in coaching circles that Celtics assistant Charles Lee will be a strong candidate in Charlotte.

Mike Budenholzer will be a pipe dream for most Hornets fans. However, he is unlikely to consider a role with the lowly Hornets as he is in a strong position to take over a contender when a role next becomes available.

The Hornets join the Brooklyn Nets and Washington Wizards as teams with vacant Head Coaching positions, with the Charlotte role looking like it could be the best situation of the three.
