Jazz Insider Shares a Stat That Hints at Brice Sensabaugh's Future

The Utah Jazz didn't get Brice Sensabaugh on the court until late this season, but his play could be a harbinger of a very bright future.

Despite finishing the season with a 31-51 record, Utah Jazz fans still have plenty to be excited about, including rookie Brice Sensabaugh. The 28th overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft, Sensabaugh has been one of the bright spots down the stretch, as he found his groove shooting the ball and finished his rookie season on a high note.

Coming out of college, Sensabaugh was touted as one of the best shooters in the 2023 draft class. In the latter part of this season, he showed exactly what he is capable of when shooting the ball.

Over his final eight games, Sensabaugh shot a blistering 43.2% from the three-point line on 5.5 attempts per game. He showed his prowess as a catch-and-shoot threat, shooting 44.0% from the three-point line on 3.6 such attempts per game in the same span.

Sensabaugh showed he can score and shoot the ball in a variety of ways, knocking down 50.3% of his pull-up three-point shots on 1.7 attempts per game in his final eight games. In addition to shooting extremely well, in his last eight games, he finished the year averaging 19.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per 36 minutes, to go along with a 58.6 TS%.

Sensabaugh was impressive in other offensive aspects beyond shooting. The Salt Lake Tribune's Riley Gisseman shared a stat about Sensabaugh following the Jazz’s 110-109 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on April 12.

“In the last six games, Brice Sensabaugh has run 28 pick-and-rolls and the team scored 40 points on those pick-and-rolls. Utah also didn’t turn the ball over once in these possessions,” Gisseman wrote.

Not only did Sensabaugh display his shooting prowess, but he also showed his potential on offense as someone the Jazz can run the pick-and-roll offense through as the main ball handler. He will be looking to use his end-of-season performance as a springboard into Year 2 with the Jazz.

Sensabaugh will presumably play for Utah’s Summer League team this year after missing the entirety of it as a rookie due to injury. The Salt Lake City Summer League is scheduled to start on July 8 and will run through July 10.
