There’s been a lot of social media chatter about who the Utah Jazz are going to take with their first pick in the upcoming NBA draft. But let’s not forget about the selection that Jazz CEO Danny Ainge acquired via the Rudy Gobert trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Provided the pick isn’t traded, the Jazz will be selecting No. 16 overall on June 22 by way of Minnesota. If history teaches us anything about the NBA draft, no pick should be taken for granted.

In 1984, the Jazz selected Hall-of-Fame point guard John Stockton with the 16th pick in the draft. Other notable 16th picks in the history of the NBA include Terry Rozier and Ron Artest.

On Tuesday, I took a peek at what players are being mocked to the Jazz with the No. 9 pick. Today, let’s switch gears and see who the experts have going to Salt Lake City with Utah's second pick in this year's draft.

F Kyle Filipowski: The Ringer

The Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler frontcourt is built for the future, but after selecting Wallace with their first pick in this mock, the Jazz would benefit from adding another big man here. Filipowski and Markkanen both provide size and quickness on the perimeter, so they could play together in jumbo lineups next to Kessler, or alone together. — Kevin O’Connor

PF Noah Clowney: ESPN

Utah currently holds three first-round picks to help jump-start its rebuild, and it takes a fascinating swing here with Clowney. The 18-year-old forward began the season without a reputation in NBA circles and finished it as arguably the second-most-impactful player on the NCAA tournament's top overall seed, vaulting himself into legitimate one-and-done territory. His excellent defensive instincts and room for shooting development are working in his favor as an already-versatile frontcourt player who can guard all over the court. Factor in that he's one of the youngest players in the class, and Clowney has plenty of room to rise on boards between now and June. — Si Woo

PF Taylor Hendricks: CBS Sports

Hendricks has been a meteoric riser this season launching from off the radar to in the mix as a potential top-10 pick in the class. He projects as a stretch big who can excel as the roll man and has excellent shooting touch inside and out. — Kyle Boone

F Dariq Whitehead: USA Today

Whitehead missed the first four games of the season due to a foot injury and another four games because of a leg sprain. He started a bit slowly, but settled in and scored in double figures eight times in 11 games from Dec. 10-Feb. 18, averaging 11.1 points in that span. He proved a three-level scorer throughout the year and excelled in shooting after converting 42.9% from 3-point range. He finished second in the ACC in 3-point percentage as it was the fifth-highest mark of any freshman in program history. Despite dealing with some injuries, Whitehead showed he can score with the best of them in this draft class. — Cody Taylor
