The Sacramento Kings have found an unexpected spark since losing star sixth man Malik Monk for the next four to six weeks, winning both games since his MCL sprain. After handily beating the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday, the Kings kick off a four-game road trip on the East Coast, taking on the New York Knicks in the infamous Madison Square Garden on Thursday night.

The Kings sit in seventh place in a jumbled Western Conference, only half of a game behind the sixth-place Phoenix Suns and one game behind the fifth-place Dallas Mavericks. The Knicks are firmly sitting in the Eastern Conference playoff picture in fifth place, but just one game behind the third-place Cleveland Cavaliers.

As both the Kings and Knicks fight for playoff position, Sacramento will have their hands full with a talented New York squad. In their lone meeting this season, the Knicks got the best of the Kings in Sacramento with a 98-91 defensive slugfest, led by All-Star Jalen Brunson with 42 points.

As the Kings and Knicks gear up for another intense battle, each squad has released their Injury Reports:

Sacramento Kings:

Kevin Huerter - OUT (shoulder)

Malik Monk - OUT (knee)

New York Knicks:

OG Anunoby - OUT (elbow)

Julius Randle - OUT (shoulder)

Josh Hart - QUESTIONABLE (wrist)

Mitchell Robinson - QUESTIONABLE (ankle)

There are no shocking entries on Sacramento's report, as Kevin Huerter recently had season-ending shoulder surgery, while Monk's MCL sprain is sidelining him for the rest of the regular season. Despite two of their top six scorers being sidelined, the Kings have shown they can compete with any team in the league.

Sophomore guard Keon Ellis has done a tremendous job filling in for an injured Huerter, adding necessary defensive intensity to a Kings squad that has struggled in that department the last couple of seasons.

The Knicks will be without All-Star Julius Randle, who has missed the last 29 games after suffering a dislocated shoulder in late January and is now set to undergo season-ending surgery to repair it. They will also be without defensive star OG Anunoby, who has missed 26 of the last 29 games, as New York's trade deadline acquisition has not been healthy enough to display the full strength of this team.

New York could also be down Josh Hart and Mitchell Robinson, despite Hart appearing in 74 of 75 games this season. Robinson has missed 51 games this season, but has played in three of New York's last four and could be good to go for Thursday's matchup. Against a talented and dominant Domantas Sabonis, the Knicks could use all the interior help possible.

The Kings and Knicks tip off at 4:30 PM PT on TNT.
