Lakers News: Bronny James Becomes Top NIL Earner Among McDonald's All-Americans

He's taking full advantage of his name, image, and likeness!

Bronny James, the high schooler son of Los Angeles Lakers All-Star small forward LeBron James, has yet to play in a single college or NBA game and he already is a multi-millionaire. He hasn't even decided on a university to attend next year yet and his name seems to be bigger than ever.

James is coming off of his McDonald's All-American game where he was also joined by Jared McCain, a three-time national champion and Duke commit. The two headlined the event and we also learned some facts regarding how they are compensated for their success on the court.

On3 has valued James' NIL potential earnings at $7.1 million, which is significantly higher than McCain's $1.2 million. 

"On3 estimates James could earn $7.2 million from his name, image and likeness. Pete Nakos of On3 noted that was far and away the biggest NIL valuation among the players who competed in this year's McDonald's All-American Game, an annual showcase of the best prep talent in the country. Jared McCain, who signed with Duke in November, was second on the list and the only other player with a seven-figure NIL valuation ($1.2 million)."

Bronny has had himself quite the year as he finished up his senior season at Sierra Canyon High School. Improved play led to him shooting up multiple top 100 rankings and 2024 draft projections, even landing in the top 10 for one.

On top of success on the court, he has been inking multiple deals with big-name brands in Nike and Beats. His partnership with Faze Clan has also continued strong, as evinced by this portrait of Bronny next to Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson of Bally Sports:

It is certainly a new era of sports that we are in. Long gone are the days of the best young athletes not being able to get a cut of the money they bring in. It's great to see that even at a high school level, where schools and brands make millions off of tournaments, the stars can profit.

With the potential for social media exposure at an all-time high, it is something to be maximized. Few have used it better than McCain and Bronny and they are paving the way for future athletes.
