In this story:

Your Los Angeles Lakers secured a much-needed 106-103 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday evening to snap a few-game losing streak. It was the kind of win that somewhat came out of nowhere, but one that the team may be able to use to help push them forward.

The team has been reeling of late, so getting the victory at least stops the bleeding for a few days. The Lakers got big performances from multiple players, including guard D'Angelo Russell.

Russell returned to the lineup after missing a few games due to a tailbone issue, but he came up huge. He scored 13 points while hitting a few three-point shots in the game.

Lakers head coach Darvin Ham was quick to praise Russell after the game. The team had missed his shooting ability in the previous few games, so it was a welcomed sight to have him back.

“Obviously, a guy that can orchestrate things, a guy that can stretch the floor, just his 3-point shooting ability and his ability to make shots,” Ham said of Russell. “You can’t have too much of that on your team. He definitely provides that.”

Russell has his faults, but he is a good enough player for this team. He helps them space the floor, while also being able to run the offense effectively.

The hope is that this performance against the Clippers can help springboard them to get back to being the team everyone knows they can be. L.A. has gotten away from the basics, and it has cost them dearly.

The Lakers have fallen in the standings, and are now barely hanging on in the playoff race. They still have plenty of time to turn the season around, but they need to get back to playing their game as soon as possible.
