Lakers News: Most Intriguing Odds & Lines Ahead Of Mavericks Rematch

In this story:
Your 14-9 Los Angeles Lakers will look to improve their win streak to four games tonight (five if you count the In-Season Tournament victory over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday, which technically is not a regular season -- or playoff -- contest), over the 14-8 Dallas Mavericks.
LA has won 12 of its last 16 bouts, and seems to be very much putting things together with a mostly-healthy roster for once. The Lakers are a jumbo-sized, intimidating defensive force, but remain a bit limited on the other end, as one of the more modest three-point shooting clubs in the land.
Ahead of the matchup, let's take a look at some of the most interesting odds and lines for the affair, via sports book aggregator The Action Network.
The Game Spread
Tonight's matchup opened in Vegas as a +1 underdog, flipped to a -4.5 point favorite, and has now settled as a more marginal -2.5 point favorite. With Kyrie Irving, Maxi Kleber, Josh Green and potentially more players shelved for the Mavs, and the Lakers in a groove, they should have no problem smashing that number.
Anthony Davis' Double-Double Odds
LA's star center has been quietly putting together a low-key Defensive Player of the Year campaign this year. The 6'10" big man has been a behemoth in the paint, using his strength and athleticism to bully all comers. On the year, he's averaging a double-double of 22.7 points (on 53.3% shooting from the field and 83.7% shooting from the foul line) and 12.7 rebounds, along with 3.2 assists, 2.7 blocks and one steal per game. At +500, Davis somehow has just the fourth-best odds of notching a double-double in this game, behind All-NBA Los Angeles forward LeBron James (+110), Mavericks superstar guard Luka Doncic (+145), and Dallas rookie center Dereck Lively III (+170). Among these four, only Davis is actually averaging a double-double on the year. Plus, Dallas' front line isn't exactly the 1986 Boston Celtics'. Vegas is sleeping on what seems to me like a pretty obvious pick.
Luka Doncic's Total Assists
The over/under for the Dallas All-Star is set at 8.5 dimes, his exact average this season. Given that he was questionable to suit up with a low back injury, and will be leaned upon more than usual to generate offense without Irving, I think his emphasis could be more on scoring. Plus, look for Jarred Vanderbilt to be draped all over him. Bet the under.
