Lakers' Luka Doncic Talks 'Unbelievable' Austin Reaves Following Spurs Win

In this story:
The Los Angeles Lakers are trying to survive without LeBron James. James has been out for over a week with a groin injury and is just now starting to get back on the court for workouts.
Without him, they have struggled a bit. They lost the first four games that they played without James, including the game that he got injured in.
Los Angeles has had to lean on Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves to carry the offense without James available. Recently, the Lakers took on the Spurs and beat them 125-109.

In that game, Reaves was the leading scorer for the team. He poured in 30 points on 12-of-21 shooting to go along with his seven rebounds and six assists.
Doncic was extremely impressed with what Reaves was able to do with so little rest that he has been getting over the last few games.
Speaking of which, here's Luka on Austin:

"I mean, this guy just scored 30 in his 4th game in 5 days. He's an amazing player. For him to go undrafted is unbelievable. It's not easy to go undrafted and play at this level and it's amazing just to be by his side" https://t.co/xxjwGePYy9 pic.twitter.com/D2vCCuW6Oo
Doncic can't believe that Reaves was someone that a team didn't want to draft. He is playing the best basketball of his career after signing a contract extension with the Lakers in the offseason.
This isn't the only big game he's had scoring-wise, either. He dropped 45 points against the Pacers when the Lakers were without both James and Doncic.
Los Angeles has one of the best third scorers in the league in Reaves. Reaves continues to play one of the bigger roles for the Lakers.

The Lakers needed those points from Reaves against San Antonio because Doncic was not efficient at all in that game. He was just 5-of-20 from the field.
Once James does come back, the Lakers will once again be one of the most dangerous teams in the league. They are still fighting for the second seed in the Western Conference.
Los Angeles sits just a game behind the Nuggets and the Rockets for the second spot in the Western Conference standings. The Lakers are good enough to win the NBA title when they have everyone healthy.
So far this season, Reaves is averaging 19.6 points 4.5 rebounds, and six assists per game.
