Luka Doncic Spends Insane Amount on Lakers Holiday Presents

In this story:
Star guard Luka Doncic has given a lot to the Los Angeles Lakers since they acquired him via a shocking February trade with the Dallas Mavericks last season.
Doncic, who has the third-shortest odds to win the league MVP award, is averaging 34.7 points per game, the most in the NBA this year. In addition, Doncic is averaging the third-most assists and the 18th-most rebounds as he continues to prove why general manager Nico Harrison's decision to trade him away is truly a head scratcher.

To add to his long list of "gifts" Doncic has already given his team, the 26-year-old gave his teammates, the Lakers staff and even the broadcast booth luxury E-Bikes from Pedal Electric.

The gift, which was given to over 100 members of the Lakers organization (including staff and reporters), is a continuation of a long tradition for Doncic, who has given some sort of electric vehicle to his teammates over each of the past four seasons.

In 2022, Doncic bought his Mavericks teammates Ninebot MAX KickScooters. The following season, it was Mercedes-EQ e-bikes and in 2024, Segway Go-Karts.
“He got everybody in basketball operations,” Redick told reporters. “I think it was 103 total gifts. Very, very high-end e-bike. So I’ll be excited to drive that down the beach. Looking forward to a very nice gesture from him. Guys all really, really enjoyed it.”
A Princely Sum
Clearly, Doncic has a love for both his teammates and the open road, as his Christmas gift is estimated to have cost around $340,000.
The Lakers posted a video to X documenting the obvious enjoyment Doncic's teammates got from the gift, providing a boost of morale before a tough stretch of the season.
After the Lakers take on the middling Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers this week, they will face a tough stretch to finish 2025, with games against the Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings and the Detroit Pistons.
The Lakers will be counting on Doncic for more than just e-bikes during that stretch, as their best player looks to continue putting the Lakers in position to contend in the Western Conference.
