In this story:

1. NEW GM ANTHONY PARKER "With the move of Hammond to his new role, Anthony Parker was promoted to be the new general manager of the Magic. After retiring from his basketball playing days, Parker joined the Magic as a scout in 2012. He worked his way up to joining the Lakeland Magic as a general manager in 2017. He was moved to the assistant general manager role in 2021.

2. MO BAMBA SIGNS WITH SIXERS Mo Bamba has found his next NBA home.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Philadelphia 76ers are signing former Orlando Magic center Mo Bamba to a one-year deal.

Bamba played with the Magic from 2018-23 before being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in February.

3. LEBRON'S SON CATCHES ORLANDO EYE “Scouts from the Lakers, Magic, Cavaliers, Mavericks, Heat, Knicks, Suns, Hawks and other teams all made James a priority on Day 1 of games.”

4. BOL NEARLY TRADED "Dallas did express draft night interest in former Magic forward Bol Bol, league sources say, but I’m told Bol wasn't the true target of the talks," Stein wrote. "The offer, sources said, was a pitch from the Mavericks to the Magic to take on Bol's contract for next season for the right to acquire Orlando's No. 36 pick in last month's draft. The Magic declined that pitch and traded No. 36 to Milwaukee instead in exchange for a 2030 second-round pick and cash considerations."

5. SUMMER LEAGUE COUNTDOWN The Orlando Magic is two days away from the Las Vegas Summer League, where rookies Anthony Black and Jett Howard will debut for the team. Coverage begins on July 8 at 5:30 p.m. on ESPN.
