In what may be the most stunning piece of news this entire season, Kevin Durant has been reportedly traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Phoenix Suns in a blockbuster trade.

Both Shams Charania and Adrian Wojnarowski have reported that Kevin Durant and TJ Warren are being traded to the Phoenix Suns for Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, four first-round picks, and a 2028 pick swap. The four first-round picks are all unprotected.

For the Brooklyn Nets, this means their championship window is officially closed. The Nets had won 11 games straight with both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving healthy together, but everything fell apart once Irving's contract negotiations fell through. Now, the only player that Brooklyn has is Ben Simmons. Just a year ago, the team had Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving in a team that was heavily favored to win the NBA Championship.

For the Phoenix Suns, they're now immediately considered the championship favorites in the western conference. The team didn't give up Deandre Ayton, Chris Paul, or any of their main core pieces besides Mikal Bridges. The Phoenix Suns are going to be an incredibly scary team in the western conference for years to come.

The Brooklyn Nets have said goodbye to both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving within a week, and now it's officially time to rebuild.
