The Brooklyn Nets continue their crashing and there have been no clear signs yet that an end to this would be in sight.

On Wednesday night, another defeat came in, and this was inflicted by a Portland Trail Blazers team that has been a thorn in the flesh for them this season.

The Nets fumbled an 11-point second-half margin and a four-point deficit with less than a minute left as the Blazers’ dramatic comeback was sealed by Anfernee Simons’ ice-cold floater with 0.2 seconds, 105-103.

Stay positive amid ongoing disastrous occasions

Brooklyn's crumbling at the crunch time just pulled the entire team to a deeper position. With a woeful 16-24 card at their hand, the Nets have lost 14 of their last 17 games after firing a strong 13-10 start.

For Nic Claxton, the team has no choice but to keep their optimism strong and glowing despite the fact that there are no present reasons that should ignite to do so.

“I’m not going to sit here and lie and say that the vibes are immaculate. We definitely feel a way about taking all these losses,” Claxton said, who finished with a 12-point, 12-board double-double on the losing effort. “But all we can do is to stay positive.”

Keep the resilience alive

After being slapped by the Blazers last Jan. 8 at the Barclays Center, the Nets couldn't ask for a more horrifying follow-up to this by absorbing another loss against the well-known opponent. Portland swept their season series in two of Brooklyn's past critical games that were decided down the stretch.

Being beaten by a rebuilding team offers nothing but an added demoralizing experience for this Nets team that is reeling and urgently demands a rejuvenating spark.

“Getting swept by Portland definitely leaves a bad taste in your mouth; we just got to keep working,” Claxton said.

“Definitely. They’ve been getting cooked, and then they come out, and they beat us twice. So it was definitely disheartening. But we’ve got to just stick together We can’t fall apart.”
