Brooklyn Nets: Kevin Durant is in the building ahead of next Friday's team media day

Well there you have it Nets fans. Your first chance to see up close and personal Brooklyn's newly acquired superstar, Kevin Durant. The injured star wasn't wearing a brace or using crutches as it's been a few weeks since he posted any updates on his Instagram account.

Brooklyn hasn't set any timetable for Durant's return from injury, but is leaning heavily on the experience and advice of Dr. O'Mailey and the HSS medical staff to chart his recovery and potential return.

In the meantime, Nets fans can gear up for next Friday's media day as the team introduces Kyrie Irving, DeAndre Jordan, Taurean Prince, and of course, Durant, at the annual press event.

The last notable media day featured the likes of: Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Jason Terry. Things didn't exactly go swimingly for that group and Nets fans are hoping that the star power that has been recruited to the borough will pay major dividends in the form of deep playoff runs.

As fall quickly approaches and the NBA season is just around the corner, the Nets will be among the marquee teams that fans will have a close eye on, which is a sharp departure from the lack of buzz around the team in recent years.
