Maven Welcomes Rick Laughland

Hello Nets fans!

This is Rick Laughland and I'm the Nets Editor for Maven. Over the past ten years, my journalism career has taken me to some interesting places, from the New York Giants press box to New York Jets training camp to the New York Mets clubhouse during the 2015 World Series run.

I had the opportunity to cover the Nets during the infamous season that saw Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce land with the team. My work has been featured on FOX 5 TV in New York, FOX Sports National Radio, Sirius XM Fantasy Radio, and many other local and national media outlets.

Right now, I'm estatic to be on the Nets beat and cover what many anticipate will be the most exciting years in the franchise's history! I grew up watching the Nets at Continental Airlines Arena and struggled through a 12-win season in New Jersey, suffered through an awkward interim move to Newark, and now enjoying the ultimate move to Brooklyn and look forward to what the future holds.

I truly feel like I've found my long-term home here as the Nets Editor at Maven. I'm a Nets fan at heart, but my journalism experience will allow me to provide unbiased and impartial insights and analysis on the team I know best. This will be an exciting journey together as I chronicle the Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant era in Brooklyn over the next few years.
