At only 22 years old, Cameron Thomas has become one of the most prolific bucket-getters in the NBA. He is scoring 21.1 points per game on decent efficiency, helping the Nets stay afloat in the Eastern Conference.

Despite playing in Brooklyn, the fans believe Cam does not get much love from the NBA world. Thankfully, Los Angeles Clippers superstar Paul George has praised Thomas once again.

“We just played one, Cam Thomas, who is a bucket. He’s not being talked about enough. Offensively, he is a problem,” PG said on his Podcast P show.

PG is correct in his assessment of Thomas

Now that Thomas is in his third year in the league, he has firmly cemented himself as a pure scorer. Whenever the Nets need a bucket, they will give the ball to Cam and move out of his way. However, Thomas’ reputation as a bucket-getter should not be the only trait he’s getting praised for.

PG said that Thomas is a problem for any defender, but that is not limited to his scoring ability. Cam is evolving his game to become a playmaker and adding more dimensions to his advanced scoring.

In the game between the Nets and Clippers, Cam had a strong performance, scoring 20 points and dishing out a career-high six assists. He was a big reason behind the Nets’ success in the first 36 minutes until the Clippers mounted a superb comeback to win.

PG defended Thomas multiple times but couldn’t solve the puzzle of keeping up with the former LSU Tiger. Remember that George is an elite perimeter defender, and PG admitting he had a tough time against Thomas is a massive compliment to the 22-year-old.

Thomas will keep improving for Brooklyn

Being this good at only 22 years old shows promise for the long-term future. Cam has a limitless ceiling with the Nets because he showed an uncanny ability to score while possessing a good attitude amidst struggles.

It is only the beginning for Cam because, in the long-term future, Brooklyn will have a star on the roster. It is up to the Nets front office and Coach Jacque Vaughn to maximize his talent and help Cam be more appreciated around the league.
