Paul George Praises Cam Thomas' Scoring Ability

In this story:
Cameron Thomas has become a hot topic around the league as he is scoring at an unreal rate in the 2023/24 season. Before the game against the Los Angeles Clippers, Thomas was averaging 28.7 points per game.
Thomas was showcasing his deep bag of tricks from jump shots where he only looked at the rim when he was at the apex of his jump to the simple breakdown of defenders into a layup. He has everything a scorer could ask for which Clippers star Paul George has shown appreciation for.
“He’s been ballin and I don’t think people aren’t giving him credit for his skill set, for how good he is. Still a young kid… Huge talent and he’s showcasing it in a big market in New York,” George said on his Podcast P show. “He’s got shades of off-the-bounce stuff like Jamal Crawford, he has the scoring ability like Brandon Roy.”
Cam Thomas' ability to adjust in mid-air is still so ridiculous. What is this? pic.twitter.com/WTbCrY3utL

Thomas is firmly in a star-level trajectory
As Cam consistently racks up over 20 points per game, he's steadily making a case for himself as a star player, though he hasn't quite reached that status yet, he's certainly in contention for the title of the Nets' top performer.
WHAT A BATTLE 🔥

Yes, Mikal Bridges and Ben Simmons still have strong cases but Cam is the first man on the opponent’s scouting report now. Of course, Cam still has to prove himself as a more well-rounded player because his reputation is mostly about his scoring now.
He is constantly working on that because the third-year guard has made massive strides as of late. Cam is defending well by staying in front of his man and navigating through screens. His playmaking has been on point too which bodes well for his future as a more well-rounded player and a central piece for the Nets.

Thomas has the support of his team
Brooklyn is fully backing their star guard, he has secured a starting spot for the foreseeable future alongside Simmons in the backcourt. Game by game, Cam is learning to embrace the number one scoring role. Even Bridges who was perceived to be the top guy in Brooklyn has acknowledged Thomas as the offensive star for this team.
After getting benched at the tail end of the 2022/23 season by coach Jacque Vaughn for better defense, the LSU guard has responded with improvements in almost every area of his game. That kind of reliability will be huge and as PG said, Cam will become a huge problem for opponents.
