Indiana Pacers have lengthy injury report Monday night against the Detroit Pistons

The Pacers could have as few as ten available players on Monday

The Indiana Pacers could be without several key players on Monday night in Detroit as the team has a lengthy injury report heading into their battle with the Pistons.

As it stands, All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton is listed as out with a bruised left knee. He banged said knee into Houston Rockets forward Jabari Smith Jr at the end of regulation last Thursday, which led to the injury. He did not play in a win on Saturday night.

The Pacers are 3-11 when Haliburton sits out this season, so even against a struggling Detroit team, they will have an uphill battle coming their way on Monday. And that doesn't even account for some of the other players who are banged up.

Kendall Brown remains out with a stress fracture in his right tibia, he has not played for the Pacers since December 7. Bennedict Mathurin also remains out with a right ankle sprain. Mathurin missed his first game of the season on Saturday. Those two were expected to be out before the weekend began.

Two veterans, Myles Turner and T.J. McConnell, are both out with back injuries, which was not expected before the weekend. Both of them have a form of back soreness and are listed as unavailable for Pacers-Pistons. They have both been relatively healthy this season.

Without Haliburton and Turner on Saturday, Chris Duarte and Isaiah Jackson started against the Pistons. James Johnson, Oshae Brissett, and Geroge Hill all played on the second unit with other reserves sidelined.

The five injuries already listed led to absences on Saturday, but there are two more players who could miss Monday's action.

One is Trevelin Queen, who didn't play against the Pistons over the weekend because he was in the G League as a part of his two-way contract. He is questionable for Indiana vs Detroit on Monday, though he could be needed depending on how many other guards miss the action.

The other player who may be out Monday night is Buddy Hield, who is listed as questionable with a sore left foot. The veteran guard has not yet missed a game this campaign and has played 70+ games in each season of his career, it's rare that he sits out. But he might on Monday night.

If Hield and Queen aren't able to suit up, then Indiana will have just ten players available. They had 11 active bodies on Saturday, though center Daniel Theis did not play.

The Pacers won 121-115 on Saturday night despite many absences. They are talented enough to do it again on Monday against the lowly Pistons, who have lost 11 games in a row, but it will be difficult without Haliburton and other key pieces.

The blue and gold have two days off after they play Detroit on Monday prior to their next outing. That could help them get healthy.
