Pistons News: Isaiah Stewart Could be Available Post All-Star Break

Pistons big man could be available post All-Star break despite recent scuffle.

Just before the All-Star break, Detroit Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart made waves following a scuffle with Drew Eubanks. He got into a verbal exchange with the Phoenix Suns center pre-game before eventually throwing punches.

After punching Eubanks in the face, Stewart was arrested and issued a citation by Phoenix police before being released. Recent developments have emerged that his court date has been set for February 23rd.

The Pistons' first game out of the All-Star break is on February 22nd against the Indiana Pacers. According to recent reports, Stewart could end up being available for the matchup. The Athletic's James Edwards III detailed that the league's review might not be concluded before Detroit takes the floor again.

"Stewart was arrested and issued a citation, but a resolution to his legal case is not expected before Thursday's game and the league's ongoing review of the situation is no texpected to net a suspension by Thursday's game, league sources tell The Athletic," Edwards wrote

Stewart, 22, is in the midst of his fourth season with the Pistons. In 35 games this year, he is posting averages of 11.6 PPG and 6.8 RPG while shooting 37.4% from beyond the arc.

Seeing that this altercation resulted in physical acts that resulted in an arrest, the Pistons should expect to be without Stewart in the near future. Once their official review, the league is likely to hand out some form of suspension for the events that transpired. Only time will tell just how lengthy it will be.

If Stewart is forced to miss time, there are multiple players who could see their playing time increase. Among those likely to get a minutes boost in his absence includes Simone Fontecchio, Ausar Thompson, and Evan Fournier.
