UPDATE: Luka Doncic has been upgraded to AVAILABLE on Saturday.

Going into Saturday’s matchup against the Detroit Pistons, the Dallas Mavericks have downgraded the playing status of their superstar guard, Luka Doncic.

According to the Mavericks’ injury report, Doncic is dealing with an elbow sprain. As a result, he is questionable to play against Detroit on Saturday night.

Lately, Doncic has been healthy and available for the Mavs. His last absence occurred on January 31, and would last just one game before the Mavs returned to the court to face the Milwaukee Bucks on February 2.

Since the Mavericks returned from the All-Star break on February 22, Doncic has been available for all eight games. The All-Star has averaged 38 minutes on the floor during that time and produced 37 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists per game while knocking down 52 percent of his shots.

Despite having Doncic available, Dallas has struggled coming out of the break. With just three wins in the last eight games, the Mavericks continue to struggle to avoid the Play-In Tournament in the Western Conference.

While Dallas will enter Saturday’s game favored with or without Doncic, Detroit has put up a good fight against their opponents lately, even picking up two wins in their last five games.

Throughout his career, Doncic faced the Pistons seven times. In those matchups, he averaged 36 points, ten assists, and eight rebounds. In his latest matchup against the Pistons, which occurred last January, Doncic dominated with a 53-point showing in 36 minutes.

The Mavericks and the Pistons are slated for a 7 PM ET tip-off on Saturday.
