Danilo Gallinari Generated Notable Market After Showcase With Pistons

After a short stint with the Detroit Pistons, Danilo Gallinari has found his next NBA home.

On Thursday morning, Patrick Beverley’s podcast account reported that Gallinari was eyeing two destinations — the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Hours later, the former Pistons forward was set to join Beverley out in Milwaukee, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Gallinari’s Radar: Which Teams Were In the Mix?

The Bucks weren’t the lone players in the market for Gallinari’s services for the remainder of the 2023-2024 NBA season.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the Phoenix Suns had eyes on Gallinari, as they have been active in adding win-now rotational pieces since beefing up their roster with the additions of Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal.

Suns Show Interest in Former Piston

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Gallinari “seriously considered” three other teams, including the Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Chicago Bulls.

Ultimately, he lands in Milwaukee to reunite with one of his former head coaches, Doc Rivers.

This season, Gallinari started off with the Washington Wizards. After the Boston Celtics cut ties with him as he recovered from an ACL setback, which sidelined him for the entire season last year, Gallinari continued his career with a 26-game stint in DC. In the weeks leading up to the 2024 trade deadline, Washington moved the veteran to the Pistons.

In Detroit, Gallinari averaged 15 minutes off the bench. He showcased nine points, two rebounds, and two assists per game. Taking roughly four shots per outing, Gallinari shot efficiently from the field and from beyond the arc, drilling 55 percent of his field goals and 58 percent of his threes.
