The Houston Rockets could look to sign one of the top centers in free agency.

According to HoopsHype's Michael Scotto, the Rockets are among the teams linked to Toronto Raptors big man Jakob Poeltl.

"Jakob Poeltl is expected to receive strong interest from the Raptors, Spurs and Rockets in free agency, league sources told HoopsHype," Scotto writes. "There’s a belief around the league that Poeltl could command around $20 million annually and could end free agency with a deal in the ballpark of three years, $60 million, according to NBA executives who spoke with HoopsHype."

Poeltl, 27, averaged 12.5 points and 9.1 rebounds in 72 appearances for the Spurs and Raptors last season. He was dealt from San Antonio to Toronto before the trade deadline.

Houston will have tough competition for Poeltl's services considering the only two teams he has played for in his career are Toronto and San Antonio.

The Rockets have been linked to other centers in free agency like Brook Lopez and Dwight Powell. With over $60 million in cap space, the Rockets can afford to sign a couple high-profile free agents who are worth a pretty penny.

Free agency kicks off tonight at 5 p.m., where all 30 teams can begin negotiating and reaching verbal agreements with players in and out of the organization.
