1. WEMBY'S OLYMPIC PLANS "I watched the World Cup and the result was very disappointing. However, I am not worried. I have no other criticism to make, I was not in the team and it is in the hands of top-level players. I feel that this does not alter the opportunity to do something big in Paris next year."

2. VASSELL'S NEW VENTURE "But before the on-court festivities get started, Vassell is creating business partnerships off the court. On Monday, he announced on Instagram that he's partnered with Steel Plate, a manufacturing company that makes weight plates for workout equipment."

3. BRANHAM'S SMOOTHNESS "He has that smoothness in his game where everything feels effortless," Bleacher Report writes. "He can snake around defenders or overpower them, and he doesn't need a lot of space to get into his shot. He is more of a scorer than table-setter, but he can impact the game in both ways."

4. WEMBY WANTS A RING, BUT HE'S PATIENT "It's no secret that it's very hard to win a [championship] ring. But I'm patient. I know it will happen at one point or another."

5. SPURS SIGN JAVANTE MCCOY "Per reports from HoopsRumors.com, the Spurs are signing guard Javante McCoy to a Exhibit 10 contract. He played for the Los Angeles Lakers' G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, last season. He also played for the Spurs' Summer League team this past July.

"The team has yet to officially announce the move. However, the G League's Austin Spurs announced on Sept. 1 that they acquired McCoy via trade with the South Bay Lakers."
