Social Media Reacts to Suns Matching Deandre Ayton Offer Sheet

The Phoenix Suns are keeping Deandre Ayton, and the internet had their fair share of fun with the move.

In one of the busiest days of the NBA offseason, the Phoenix Suns can finally say Deandre Ayton will be playing basketball for them once again after matching a four-year, $133 million offer sheet from the Indiana Pacers.

Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro reports the offer sheet was only on the table for about three minutes before the Suns matched it, indicating there was no hesitation on their part.

A few parameters follow the trade, which includes the following:

  • Ayton can't be traded by Phoenix until Jan. 15
  • The Pacers can't trade for Ayton for one year
  • Ayton has rights to veto a trade for one year

Now, the flurry of reports and rumors surrounding his next destination can finally be put to rest.

The Suns have Ayton under contract for the next four seasons, and as par for the course, Twitter had a few things (and memes) to offer:
