Twitter Reacts to Mat Ishbia Buying Phoenix Suns

Although nothing is official, the Phoenix Suns are soon to be under new ownership after ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowksi reported the Suns (and Phoenix Mercury) were going to be sold to billionaire Mat Ishbia.

The sale, expected to go for $4 billion, is was very welcomed by the streets of Twitter.

Magic Johnson shared some words of encouragement:

I had a great call with fellow Spartan Mat Ishbia congratulating him on his purchase of the Phoenix Suns. He’s going to do great things not only for the Suns organization, but for the entire league. All of the other 29 NBA teams better watch out because Mat’s a winner!

Ishbia, who played at Michigan State under Tom Izzo, was a certified bucket-getter.

Billionaires are billionaires, but Mat Ishbia is only 42 years old and is a former college basketball player himself. I think this is one of the better outcomes we could’ve gotten here.

Phoenix hopes to complete the sale soon, but it's clear new ownership already has the vote of confidence.
