Suns Give Update on Kevin Durant Injury

Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant got an injury update from coach Frank Vogel.

PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns won't have the services of Kevin Durant at their disposal for a second consecutive game tonight following an ankle injury that first occurred down the late stages of the team's loss vs. Los Angeles last week.

Having lost their last four-of-five entering tonight's battle against the Golden State Warriors, the Suns would love to turn their fortunes around sooner rather than later, especially with Bradley Beal making his return to action.

Durant - originally listed as questionable - was ruled out earlier today. He was spotted practicing and playing 1v1 with a few players yesterday, and some had hoped that was a potential green light for his return.

Just now, we spoke with Suns coach Frank Vogel, who said Durant was simply testing his range of motion:

"He was just testing it out, seeing how all the movements felt. He just wasn't quite where he needs to be in terms of being able to play tonight," Vogel said pregame.

"But that was just to try to test it, challenge it and see where it was at."

The Suns are playing the first of a back-to-back tonight with the Brooklyn Nets visiting tomorrow. They also host the New York Knicks on Friday with the Washington Wizards also arriving on Sunday.

NBA on TNT's Jared Greenberg is reporting Durant is expected to play tomorrow, though Vogel said a better possibility might be Friday.

"Possibly. Might be more towards Friday but he's gonna continue to see how it feels each day," he said when asked if Durant could play vs Brooklyn.

Vogel also said Grayson Allen isn't expected to play tomorrow as he continues to heal a groin strain.
