NBA Scout: Mikal Bridges Was Waiting to Prove Suns Wrong in Kevin Durant Trade

In this story:
The Phoenix Suns are currently in the midst of a playoff run that could see them advance to the second round as soon as Tuesday.
Kevin Durant - acquired at the trade deadline in a deal with the Brooklyn Nets - has been a big reason why many believe the Suns can go the distance and capture their first franchise championship.
Fans in the Valley were hoping former Suns in Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson could be a part of that process, though that dream came to an end when both were sent packing to Brooklyn in exchange for Durant.
It's a trade both sides would likely make again, and even Bridges himself admitted that he understood why the deal was done.
However, that won't stop Bridges - often overlooked as a competitor thanks to his personality - from wanting to leave his mark.
One NBA scout told HoopsHype that Bridges is on a mission to make the Suns regret their decision.
"Between the draft and getting traded to Brooklyn, a lot of guys got more publicity than he did. Mikal might be a skinny dude with a big smile, but he's also from Philly. Nobody holds a grudge quite like a Philly guy," the scout said.
"Mikal's been waiting to unleash how pissed he's been for being traded from a contending team (Phoenix). Even though he said he knew why they traded him and he would've traded himself for Durant too, it doesn't change the fact that he could be pissed off about it. He's obviously still pissed off about the Philly trade, which he's openly said he's still pissed at."
The Nets were just recently bounced from the playoffs in 4-0 fashion by the Philadelphia 76ers. Bridges and Johnson have yet to play Phoenix since being traded but will surely run into them next season.
