The Phoenix Suns were able to advance to the second round of the NBA postseason with a close 136-130 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers, closing the series out in five games.

It was a wild night that featured a 50-point Suns third quarter before the Clippers eventually brought a 20-point lead to a mere two points with under three minutes to play in the game.

However, Phoenix was able to push themselves over the finish line, mostly thanks to the efforts of shooting guard Devin Booker.

Booker led all scorers with 47 points, tying a personal career high in the playoffs and establishing a Suns record for most 40+ point games in franchise postseason history.

Booker's sixth 40+ point playoff game couldn't have come at a better time, as the Suns nearly had their series with Los Angeles pushed to an unnecessary game. Booker dropped 47 on 19-27 shooting (70.4%) with eight rebounds, ten assists and two steals.

Additionally, Booker is just the third NBA player since 1997 to score 25+ points in a single quarter in a postseason game, joining Allen Iverson and Damian Lillard (via Stathead).

Booker - alongside the talented Kevin Durant - has taken full advantage of the more open looks he's seen on the court. He finished the Clippers series averaging 37.2 points on 60% shooting.

Now, Phoenix will battle the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the postseason in the Western Conference Semifinals. While times are to be determined, the Suns will be in Denver for Games 1 and 2.
