Thunder Gameday: OKC Looks to Bounce Back Against League-Best Celtics

The Thunder's third stop on a five-game road stretch will see them face off against the league-best Celtics.

The Oklahoma City Thunder will face the Boston Celtics on the back-end of a back-to-back Wednesday night, looking to bounce back after a close loss Tuesday.

OKC lost by just four to the Sixers on Tuesday after leading for most of the game, fizzling near the end without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander or Jalen Williams to lead them as shot creators.

ODDS:

The Thunder enter the day as 8.5-point underdogs against the Celtics, and the total over/under is 228.5 points.

KEYS TO THE GAME:

Unfortunately for OKC, the main key to winning the game will simply be getting healthy.

Boston is just one win away from 60 on the season, obviously boasting one of the best regular seasons we’ve seen in some time. Even fully healthy the game would already be an uphill battle, but having a hobbled pair of stars will make it that much tougher.

If its stars remain on the injury report, Chet Holmgren will need to replicate his success Tuesday with similar aggression. And the team will need to get off to a quicker shooting start than it did in Philadelphia.

If Oklahoma City can hit their shots and play strong team-defense for four straight frames, they can at least give themselves a chance.

FINAL WORD:

OKC has just seven games remaining on its regular season slate, with two more road games following Wednesday’s contest. After failing to mark themselves in the win column Tuesday, today’s is nearly a must if the team wants a chance a clinching the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.

Without it, the Thunder could be relegated to No. 2 or 3 to end the season, strong consolation prizes regardless.
