OKC Thunder Possible Playoff Matchups Trimmed to Just Two Teams

The Oklahoma City Thunder have two possible playoff matchups after the first round of the NBA Play-in Tournament.

The Oklahoma City Thunder grabbed the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference after a wild final week of the regular season. Riding a five-game winning streak, the OKC Thunder await their first-round playoff matchup to be determined via the NBA Play-In tournament.

A year ago at this time, the Thunder were the ones scrapping for a playoff spot in the Play-in tournament, falling a game shy of the first round. Now, they sit at home and await their matchup through this bracket.

After night one of the play-in tournament, the OKC Thunder's possible playoff partners have dwindled from four teams to just two. The Los Angeles Lakers knocked off the New Orleans Pelicans to advance to play the Denver Nuggets in the first round on Saturday, while the Sacramento Kings ousted the Golden State Warriors likely ending the Bay area dynasty.

This sets up a Friday win and you're in game between the Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans in New Orleans. Whoever comes out on top will travel to Oklahoma City to play the Thunder on Sunday to tip-off the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs in the Paycom Center.

In the opening round of the play-in tournament, Pelicans star Zion Williamson turned in the best game of his career along with picking up a hamstring injury with the severity not yet known. For the Kings, Keon Ellis continued his hot streak while Keegan Murray poured in 32 points in front of a ruckus crowd.
