According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie will acquire a Nigerian passport in order to play for the country's national basketball team. Before the NBA suspended the season due to concerns of the coronavirus, Dinwiddie was having a big year averaging a career-high in points, rebounds and assists. Despite the impressive numbers, he was not selected as a potential player for the Unite States' roster. His Nigerian teammates will include fellow NBA players Al-Farouq Aminu, Josh Okogie, Chimezie Metu, Ekpe Udoh. 2008-09 coach of the year Mike Brown will look to coach the squad to a gold medal.
