Details of Draymond Green's Meeting With Teammates Revealed

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green apologized to his teammates

It was reported by Marcus Thompson of The Athletic in a recent article that Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green apologized to his teammates for getting suspended. Revealing details of that message, Thompson wrote, "Sources in the locker room said Green apologized and displayed contrition. He told the team his intentions were pure — protecting his teammate — but he took it too far."

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr also admitted Green took things too far by choking Rudy Gobert, saying the following during a recent media session:

"Yes, he definitely took it too far. I didn't have a problem with him getting Rudy off of Klay, because the rule of thumb is you don't put your hands on another player on the other team, you get your own guy, so I thought Rudy was wrong for putting his arms on Klay - regardless of his intentions. I had no problem with Draymond getting him off of him, but he's gotta let go. He hung on for 6 or 7 seconds, and it was a terrible visual for the league, for Draymond, for everybody. Draymond was wrong, he knows that. It's a bad look, the 5 games is deserved, and we move forward."

Recognizing this himself, Green apologized to his teammates, and will look to lock in once he returns from suspension. The Warriors need him, especially after dropping six-straight games.
