Details of Draymond Green's Suspension Punishment Revealed

Draymond Green has started counseling.

When it was announced that Draymond Green would be out indefinitely with a suspension, many NBA fans wondered what his actual punishment would be. Now, it looks like a glimpse of that has been revealed.

According to Shams Charania, Draymond Green is now scheduled to undergo counseling and is expected to be suspended for a minimum of three weeks. It was a decision that NBA executive vice president and head of basketball operations, Joe Dumars, made because of Green's "repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts."

Hopefully, going to counseling actually provides Draymond Green with some ability to change himself. While people want to claim the past year of his career is where he really became unhinged, the fact is that he's been unhinged his whole career. Both the NBA and the Golden State Warriors have enabled him year after year, letting him make dirty play after dirty play to the point where he didn't think he was doing anything wrong.

The first part of Draymond Green's rehabilitation has to be in the form of accountability. It has to be in the form of letting him know that the rules aren't as special to him as he thinks they are, and that he should be getting held accountable for harming people so consistently. Hopefully, by the new year, Green will have made some progress toward that.
